Social Sponsoring
Guarda Mirim

In Brazil, we have been supporting “Guarda Mirim“, a non-profitmaking organization, which makes it possible for needy youngsters between the ages of 14 and 18 to embark upon an apprenticeship. Not only do they learn at an academic and job-related level, they also develop their personal skills and social competencies.
Currently, there are six young people participating in this program at our Curitiba plant.

Instituto Ixtliyollotl

We have been supporting “Instituto Ixtliyollotl“, a training program for children and youngsters from Mexico’s indigenous population, for several years now in Puebla. Further practical, in-depth instruction on health issues, personal development, environmental protection and industry is provided through visits to local companies.
The knowledge they acquire enables participants to improve the social and economic conditions in their home regions.

The German School Pretoria

Through our South African joint venture in Brits, we support the German school in Pretoria. Here some 20 children growing up in impoverished conditions are able to benefit from an education they would otherwise not receive.
Dame Vida I.A.P.

Since 2004, our location in Querétaro has been working in conjunction with “Dame Vida I.A.P.“, a private aid organization, which has so far helped 32 people to obtain kidney and cornea transplants, giving them a new perspective in life. Eduardo Cobian Portilla, the organization’s founder, thanked plant manager Gerado Lopez for this commitment at the beginning of 2007.

She Fuli Yuan

Since 2006, our Chinese facility in Changchun has been providing support for the municipal children’s home, She Fuli Yuan. It currently houses 20 disabled children of all ages up to 18 who have been abandoned by their parents and were living alone on the streets of the metropolis.
We provide sports apparatus designed to train their motor skills and muscles. This is particularly important, since about 95 percent of the children at the home suffer from a physical disability.
