Advanced Optimization Maintenance Supervisor

Job Overview:

  • Development and monitoring of optimization strategies in order to ensure demanded capacity of production equipment, paralleled with cost reduction and procurement support of new production equipment at plant Tuscaloosa. Ensure customer requirements relating to quality and efficiency are met as related to the specific duties and responsibilities below.
  • Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage the dedicated resources according to the Brose Leadership Principles and control the budgets and investments for the assigned cost center
  • Technical know-how responsible for all machine projects in plant Tuscaloosa to ensure equipment availability and quality performance targets are achieved throughout the procurement process (incorporating Lessons Learned from the optimization projects)
  • Ensure planning, execution and supervision of optimization and ratio projects for production equipment and systems (OEE, cycle time, output, NOK quote, etc.) using systematic tools to visualize status and measure the effectiveness of the results
  • Define and monitor performance KPIs according to the standardized KPI system for the analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement of the agreed upon objectives of the AO team
  • Create and implement standards for general specifications (Software & Control Technology)
  • Initiate, plan and execute costs savings projects to support the plant savings target
  • Ensure development and implementation of systems to drive automation and digitalization within the manufacturing process
  • Recruit, train, develop and appraise the people required, in both number and quality, to meet present and future needs
  • Ensure adherence to and proper implementation of the correspondent laws, regulations, guidelines, operational instructions, current status of technology and other rules governing production optimization and procurement of production equipment within the planning and execution of all tasks

Formal Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • 3 to 5 years work experience
  • Knowledgeable in project management on moderate scale build-ups
  • Extensive knowledge in automation technology and equipment construction; mechanical and electrical
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Siemens PLC programming logic and IT networking
  • Knowledge of relevant norms and regulations (safety regulations, electrical regulations, CE, …)
