Brose Junior Company

Every skilled occupation requires different capabilities. The Brose Junior Company enables first and second-year apprentices to use all of their talents – just like they would in a real company. Apprentices learn about accepting and processing orders, customer service, production and much more in this training company, and tasks are coordinated and streamlined here. This simulation enhances your understanding of our company’s workflows, promotes team spirit, ambition and responsible action. It also helps prepare you for your career in the Brose Group.

Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical Engineering

Specializing in Vehicle Electronics and Mechatronic Systems/Automation

Your career as an electronics engineer is future-proof thanks to the increasing number of electronic components being built into passenger vehicles today. Car owners want more comfort and safety, and Brose is constantly advancing its technology to respond to these needs.

Training content and university curriculum

The two-year basic study course focuses on general engineering and the fundamentals of natural science (Mathematics, Physics) in electronics, digital technology, microprocessor technology and information science. Consequently, energy, computer and simulation technology and process and quality management are also included in this varied degree program.

During the practical part of your education, you will acquire basic skills in metal and electrical engineering and measurement technology. Beginning in your third semester, you will already be involved in actual engineering projects. During your fifth semester, you begin more advanced study with a specialization in either electronics or automation. The former focuses on acquiring special knowledge required to develop electronic devices, while the latter concentrates on development and project engineering for automated systems.

The university is located in Friedrichshafen; the Brose apprenticeship component can be completed in one of our following locations: Coburg, Hallstadt near Bamberg, Würzburg or Wuppertal.

Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

Specializing in Vehicle System Engineering

Mechanical engineering is a diverse degree program that requires every student to choose an area of specialization at a specified time. As an automotive supplier, we are always in need of mechanical engineers and help train them to become experts for complex vehicle system requirements.

Training content and university curriculum

Alongside your basic studies in mechanical engineering, you also learn special metalworking, control engineering, technical presentation or CAD program skills during the practical phase at one of our participating plants.

At the start of your fifth semester, you begin more advanced study of vehicle system engineering as you start working independently on projects that put your engineering skills to the test in your respective function at Brose.

Thus, your studies combine the increasingly complex demands on the vehicle development training curricula with electrical engineering and computer science. Moreover, students receive an introduction to vehicle technology, simulation methods, computer-aided development tools and mechatronics, not to mention business and management.

Bachelor of Science, Business Information Systems

A mastery of the latest IT technologies along with business administration methods are decisive skills in developing modern information systems and optimizing complex business processes in the context of international projects. In your role as a business information systems specialist at Brose, you will soon find yourself managing your own projects, developing standard processes and working on international implementation projects.

Training content and university curriculum

Because they are involved in complex international projects, business information systems specialists must be highly effective communicators and analytical thinkers in addition to having excellent technical skills. This course of study targets all of these abilities. It is augmented by curricula such as information technology, programming and business administration.

Beginning in your third semester, your course schedule will include law, project management, databases, business process modeling, IT management and other subjects. At Brose you’ll even utilize these high-level skills during your apprenticeship. We get you involved in our worldwide business processes early on and assign you your first projects.

The university is located in Stuttgart; the Brose apprenticeship component can only be completed in our Coburg location.

Bachelor of Engineering, Business Administration and Engineering

Specializing in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Technical proficiency paired with business management expertise: our business engineers specialize in finding technically feasible and financially viable solutions to problems. This is why they are in such high demand, especially at high-tech companies like Brose – for example as technical controllers.

Training content and university curricula

The two year basic study course combines general engineering content with mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals. Comprehensive business administration content completes the curricula. In addition, the program features computer science, law and/or three years of English, French or Spanish language training.

Energy, computer and simulation technology are just as much a part of this versatile degree program as process and quality management, for example. At the same time, our corporate apprenticeship program teaches you basic skills in metalworking and control engineering, technical presentation basics, fundamentals of finance and accounting as well as IT. Finally, the fifth and sixth semesters focus on advancing your knowledge of business administration.

Training and university location

The university is located in Stuttgart; the Brose apprenticeship component can be completed in one of our following locations: Coburg, Hallstadt near Bamberg, Würzburg or Wuppertal. A several-week internship at one of our international locations is a mandatory component of this degree program.

Frequently asked questions

  • Basic information on the Cooperative State University

    We have worked closely with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) on the dual-track studies programs since 1998.

    The vocational training program culminates in a Bachelor’s degree. The DHBW campuses in Stuttgart and Friedrichshafen provide specialist expertise and are supplemented with longer practical modules at one of our plants in Coburg, Hallstadt (near Bamberg), Würzburg or Wuppertal. International assignments in Europe or abroad are also possible – and they are mandatory for the business engineering degree program.

    University study is limited to a period of six semesters plus final exams and culminates in a Bachelor’s degree after three years.

    Our trainers will support you during your course of study, especially during degree-related and project work here at Brose. They will also help you plan a stay abroad at one of our many international locations.

    Once it is clear you will join the company on completion of your degree, we will work with you to determine your own specific field of work even before you graduate – bearing your personal abilities, skills and goals in mind.

  • What qualifications are required?

    You have either completed your higher secondary education and are qualified to attend a university or university of applied sciences or have demonstrated your ability to participate in the dual-track studies program.

    Of course, we also expect you to be interested in working in technology or business. Naturally, we expect the same qualities from you that we wish to see in all Brose employees: team spirit, ambition, pleasure in achieving our common success and a sense of responsibility are attributes that will positively impact your career at Brose.

  • Will I be paid by Brose?

    As a Brose student in the dual-track studies program, you will receive a training allowance. This will ensure you remain financially independent and can concentrate on your studies.
