PLC Programmer

Your Job Specification

  • Consistent improvements on assembly equipment by making programming changes in the PLC or other systems to reduce cycle time and increase reliability
  • Developing and changing of automation processes through programming the PLC
  • Implementing additional vision systems and scanners, setting up communication to the main PLC and integrating it into the code
  • Provide higher level of support for maintenance technicians during break down situations through troubleshooting methods
  • Developing and executing training for development of other team members
  • Administration and key user for internal systems and applications such as version dog
  • Coordination of interface between Shopfloor IT and industrial networks including Profibus, Profinet
  • Support of equipment procurement within the procurement phases (design, delivery release, final acceptance) and signoff of the equipment
  • Support standardization of equipment and adherence of standards by working closely with suppliers
  • Additional tasks as required including after hour support and remote support

Your Profile

  • Formal apprenticeship program in Mechatronics or similar or Technician with extensive further technical education and trainings
  • Five years experience in a maintenance related field of a series production company, preferably in the automotive field and focused in automation tasks such as PLC and HMI programming
  • Advanced knowledge in Siemens PLC programming including Step 7, TIA portal, WinCC flexible
  • Experience with Simodrive, Bosch, Indramat servo systems
  • Visual basic and Labview experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge with Visual inspection systems such Cognex, Balluff, Keyence
  • Mechanical aptitude and advanced knowledge of processes including pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Advanced knowledge in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical circuits
  • Ability to program robotics such as ABB and UR
  • Experience in Trumpf laser technology
  • Ability to work independently and able to make decisions
