Automotive supplier Brose opened a new IT service center in the Czech city of Ostrava. The experts there work on software development as well as the digital infrastructure and support IT users around the world who work for the family-owned company. Among others attending the opening ceremony were Ivo Vondrák, the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, and Tomáš Macura, the Mayor of Ostrava. This year Brose is creating a total of around 50 jobs for IT specialists in the Czech Republic.

The mechatronics specialist’s new office space is located on the Technical University of Ostrava campus. “The location gives us a direct line to students and graduates at the university. It also opens up new opportunities for our company’s collaboration with the TU,” explained Niclas Pfüller, General Manager Brose Czech Republic. Top politician Ivo Vondrák also stressed this positive aspect: “I think that interesting career prospects at Brose will also be a factor in keeping experts trained at the university here in the region. Brose’s success also enhances the Moravian-Silesian region’s international visibility.”

The Brose Czech Republic country operation was founded in 2004. With the two plants in Kopřivnice and Rožnov, it plays a key role in the automotive supplier’s global production network – both facilities are located near Ostrava in the eastern region of the Republic. The company employs a total of around 3,400 people there. In addition to production, they also perform tasks in product development and administration.
