BBC Coburg Celebrates Success in Talent Development: Elias Baggette Nominated for the National Team
A new milestone for the talent development of BBC Coburg: Elias Baggette, who wore the BBC Coburg jersey in the 2020/2021 season, has been nominated for the German national team squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers. This is a significant achievement for Baggette personally and an impressive testament to the high quality of player development at BBC Coburg. The development and promotion of young talents is a top priority in Coburg. Time and again, players mature who later make the leap to the Basketball Bundesliga or even to the national team.
Elias Baggette joins a growing list of successful young players from BBC Coburg who have made it to professional basketball. Mateo Seric, who played for BBC Coburg in the 2020/21 season, is another impressive example. Today, he plays for the Basketball Bundesliga team MLP Academics Heidelberg and has continued his career there. Other promising talents include Gabriel Kuku and Adrian Petkovic, who received contracts for the Bundesliga directly with the cooperation partner Bamberg from the past season at BBC Coburg.
This year, BBC once again focused on young talents with potential in the squad composition. With an average age of 19.5 years, they are consciously continuing the path to give players the chance to develop in the second Basketball Bundesliga. This season even includes the native of Coburg, Julian Günther, who, despite being only 16 years old, has already averaged 11 minutes on the court this season.
The BBC family is proud of their talents and excited about the upcoming developments.
