Olympics: Another quarter-final exit for Krawietz and Pütz

Paris, 07-31-2024

Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz have been eliminated in the quarter-finals of the doubles category at the Summer Olympics. The German Davis Cup doubles team lost to the Czechs Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek.

Although the Germans got off to a strong start and won the first set 6:3, a collapse followed: Krawietz and Pütz lost the second set 1:6 in just 25 minutes. The momentum was now on the side of the Czechs, who, as in the previous matches, won the match tie-break 10:5. This dashed the dream of a medal for the German duo, who, as at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, did not make it past the quarter-finals.

Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz have another tournament on the tour coming up next week. They will compete in the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal, which has been played on hard court since 1881.
