Brose entered the Americas market in 1993 and has since grown alongside the region’s rapidly evolving automotive industry. As a family-owned company, we have built a strong presence in key automotive production hubs across the region. Today, we remain committed to expanding our footprint, deepening customer partnerships, and driving innovation in one of the world’s most dynamic automotive regions.

1993-1997

1993

  • Brose enters the Americas with an office in Auburn Hills, Michigan
  • First North American manufacturing facility opens in Querétaro, Mexico: Brose Benito Juárez

1994

  • First North American contract signed with General Motors

1997

  • Begins production of first North American-developed window regulators at Brose Benito Juárez

  • Launch of first production program for Ford Motor Company
  • Brose Puebla plant begins operations

1999

  • First program award from Chrysler

2000

  • Wins first door systems contract in North America
  • Launches production of the first window lift with pinch protection

Tuscaloosa groundbreaking

2001-2004

2002

  • Brose signs first seat systems contract with Chrysler

2004

  • New Brose North America headquarters opens in Auburn Hills, MI
  • Brose Tuscaloosa plant begins production in Vance, Alabama
  • First closure systems contract awarded by Ford

2005-2009

  • Brose London plant opens as the first Canadian production site

2006

  • Wins “Chrysler Group Gold Award” for Brose Detroit and Brose Puebla

2008

  • Product portfolio expands to include electric motors and drives

2010-2015

  • Brose El Marqués plant begins production in Querétaro, Mexico
  • Brose Jefferson (Warren, Michigan) starts production

2013

  • Brose New Boston plant (Michigan) opens

2016-2020

2017

  • Brose surpasses 5,000 employees in North America
  • Plants open in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Belvidere, Illinois

2018

  • Brose Aeropuerto plant begins production in Querétaro, Mexico, becoming the 3rd Brose facility in that location

  • Wins GACC Community Engagement Award
  • Recognized with multiple honors: Top Workplace for Manufacturing, Best and Brightest, and Top Workplace (4th time)

2022

  • Earns GACC Apprenticeship Award (third time)
  • Wins GM Supplier of the Year (sixth time)
  • Brose Tuscaloosa named Assembly Magazine’s Plant of the Year
  • Brose London becomes a stand-alone press shop

2023-2025

  • Brose celebrates 30 years in North America
  • Marks 10-year anniversary of the Apprenticeship Program

  • Brose Belvidere closes
