Brose is receptive to new technologies

Sven Matuschzik sees digitalization as an investment in the future.
Digitalization fundamentally transforms companies - from more efficient business processes and new business models to an improved customer experience. At Brose, we are focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the areas of quality assurance, knowledge management and process efficiency. "The potential is enormous, and we are closely monitoring developments to utilize them strategically for our benefit. I am convinced that companies that consistently drive forward digitalization will have a clear competitive advantage," says Sven Matuschzik. He is responsible for digitalization at Brose and provides an exciting insight into what the future of IT might bring.
Mr. Matuschzik, what originally motivated you to work in IT?
My fascination with IT began in my youth when I used a computer for the first time. I was immediately fascinated by how technology could be used to solve problems and develop creative solutions. This passion has stayed with me to this day and drives me to constantly tackle new challenges.
Which trends or technologies in the field of digitalization do you think will soon prevail?
Specifically, we at Brose are looking at the topic of agentic AI, i.e. AI systems that can make decisions "autonomously" and carry out tasks intelligently. These systems are trained with large amounts of data and can control complex processes without human intervention.
When should caution be exercised with AI?
AI brings enormous opportunities, but also challenges - especially in sensitive areas such as data protection, ethical decisions and transparency. AI systems must be fair, traceable and secure to avoid negative impacts of the technology. We also need to consciously address the effects of AI on jobs and society and deal with them responsibly. In our family business, we approach these issues with respect, but without fear. We have defined and established processes to work in accordance with internal and external guidelines at all times. Our aim is to create maximum transparency in the field of AI and to involve both employees and customers.
How should companies position themselves in the field of IT in the future?
I am convinced that successful companies must remain agile and continuously adapt to new technological developments. This means investing in further training, promoting a culture of innovation and maintaining close networking with partners, start-ups and universities.Brose already cooperates with universities to implement joint research projects. At the same time, we use training courses and community formats to ensure that our employees are well prepared for the digital future. After all, it is the people who make the digital transformation a success.
