Material Planner

Your tasks

  • Communicates daily with domestic and international suppliers to ensure an on time and complete delivery
  • Monitors the flow of shipments in transit to ensure material arrives within the specified time frame. Also tracks all international shipments and brokerage clearance daily by working with our International Freight Forwarder, United States Customs Broker, and German Warehouse
  • Arranges special transport due to increased customer requirements or supplier quality/transport failures and creates detailed planning for procured parts due to supplier failure or an engineering change
  • Checks the customer orders in relation to the planning and in the event of discrepancies, works with the customer or production team to meet the demand. Also communicates with the customer and ensures on time and complete deliveries, therefore achieving the highest customer satisfaction
  • Creates documentation for sample and customer deliveries and works alongside the logistics team members to ensure a timely preparation of the shipment
  • Verifies the accuracy of the physical flow of production material versus the systematic flow; monitors the automated movement of material within the system (i.e., deliveries and backflushes)
  • Develops procedures to optimize inventory levels, tracking of freight, and packaging needs and enhances the parameters within the system to reach set goals
  • Coordinates with the various departments to implement engineering changes by creating the material master and supplier/customer delivery schedules and monitoring the run-in date of the new component
  • Organizes with all suppliers to ensure timely submission of the NAFTA documentation to the customer
  • Creates batch production schedules and communicates material priorities to the production team

Your Profile

  • 3-5 years in production scheduling and/or logistics planning
  • Problem Solver

  • Ability to multitask

  • Knowledge of Automotive Industry

  • Analytical and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in teams

  • Strong communication skills

  • Flexibility

  • Knowledge of International Trade and US Customs regulations

  • Ensure compliance of quality and environmental systems to all required standards including customer specific requirements

  • BS degree from four-year College or University in Business
