Plastics – Materials for the age of lightweight design
Plastic-based components will play an increasingly important role in current and future automotive technology. We use these extremely light, robust materials primarily in door systems. With their low weight, plastics reduce fuel consumption and, as a result, lower CO2 emissions in line with legislation. We use plastic pellets in our production processes, as well as prefabricated plastic components. We use hybrid metal and plastic materials in our closure systems and seat adjusters.
Pellets
Mainly of basic materials: POM, PBT, PA, PE, PP
Plastic injection molded parts
Plastic parts with one- or mulit-component injection molding, Party with dovetial connection an mechanically stressed in use, Weight up to 100 grams
Large plastic parts manufactured by injection molding, stamping, (blow molding) gas injection molding, lightweight materials /-technologies, with a weight of 150 up to 1,000 gram, ready to assemble/use, partly visible or painted surfaces
Hybrid/Outsert components (plastic-/metal composite)
Stamping parts an fine blank parts coated or partly stamped with plastic, 2-component-machines and injection molding machines with clamping forces of 25 ton up to 320 ton are required, required stamping pressure from 5 ton up to 100 ton
Visible plastic molding parts
Outer and inner door handles made of plastics (multi-component assembly), required injection molding machines and die-casting machines with clamping forces from 20 ton up to 350 ton
Colored or bicolored coating of parts, chrome-plated
Rubber profiles and rubber formed parts
Weight < 1 gram up to 50 grams, made of EPDM and thermoplastic elastomers
