Automation Technician

- Operate and maintain new technology equipment, including but not limited to multiple handling robots, an ultrasonic welder, a laser etcher and test equipment.
- Lead a team of multiple operators.
- Ensure OEE, output, goals, and machine capabilities are met on a daily basis.
- Monitor and control production key performance indicators, quality, delivery, housekeeping, absence, etc. in accordance with company requirements.
- Liaise with the logistics department in respect to outgoing parts and stock management of incoming material.
- Document and report on highly automated equipment measurables (Downtime, Scrap, FTC, OEE).
- Troubleshoot problem areas and concerns for material and equipment
- Respond to and find solutions for production issues, liaise with other internal departments as necessary.
- Ensure minimum downtime of production equipment with a responsibility for maintenance of spare / wear parts.
- Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities in order to optimize equipment and processes.
- Communicate effectively within the team and support groups.
- Follow escalation procedure to ensure fast response.
- Execute/maintain work instructions with engineering department for task, poke yoke & preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the company including Health and Safety, Environmental, and be pro-active in the development of a safe working environment.
- Deputy for other Service Technicians and their production areas as required.
Your Profile
- Strong attention to detail and high level of communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
- Mechanically inclined and experience with automated assembly processes and knowledge of robotics & mechanicals, fluid power, and a basic understanding of electronics.
- Able to read and communicate work instructions in English; read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Sound reasoning skills; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to work shift rotations (days/afternoons/midnights/continental) and overtime when required
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and a working knowledge of SAP.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and goal oriented.
