For a brighter future

Education is an important prerequisite on the path to personal success, whether at work or in one’s personal life. It drives all forms of societal and technological progress. As a globally operating, family-owned company, systematically fostering young peoples’ careers is an integral part of the Brose identity. And as a major player in the local economy, we accept social responsibility by supporting projects in regions surrounding our group locations.

Small team – big motivation

Students see the “Formula Student” as much more than simply a design competition and race. Cars are developed and built independently by interdisciplinary teams – often with active support from automotive manufacturers. However, the close to 30-person Coburg Automotive Team (C.A.T.) at the Coburg University of Applied Sciences does not enjoy this advantage. Instead, C.A.T. relies on discipline, ambition and team spirit. Brose supports C.A.T. with financial and material resources along with comprehensive expertise. With success: in 2016 the team earned first place in Varano (Italy) and sixth place in Hockenheim – among over 70 international competitors in each event.

Promoting the best

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research works with businesses to award its “Germany Scholarships”. Brose has offered these scholarships to students at the universities of applied sciences in Coburg, Bamberg, Bayreuth, Würzburg and Wuppertal annually since 2011 and in Ingolstadt since 2015. The scholarship is awarded to highly gifted students in the fields of engineering and economics who demonstrate exceptional promise and with whom we have personal contact. If needed, we offer internships or allow scholarship recipients to fill positions as working students. After sponsoring 15 students in 2014/2015, we are assisting another three scholarship recipients with financial support from April 2016 to March 2017.

With the future generation of technology

The renowned Northern Institute of Technology (NIT) in Hamburg is highly acclaimed worldwide. Since 2009, we have sponsored two students from Germany and abroad who major in “Mechatronics” and “International Production Management” and wish to complete their Master’s degrees here. Brose pays tuition fees, provides the internship position students require to complete their Master’s thesis and supports scholarship recipients until they successfully complete their degrees – some of these students have already launched their careers with Brose.

Advances in polymer research

Every year the Scientific Alliance of Polymer Technology (WAK) presents its award for forward-thinking Master’s or Doctor’s theses in its field of expertise. Brose’s involvement in WAK helps cement its relationships with current and future specialists in the field. Due to our business interest in polymer research we have also sponsored one of the WAK awards since 2007. The award was presented for two theses in 2015. The Master’s thesis by a graduate at the University of Paderborn received a 3,500 euro cash prize and a dissertation by a graduate with a doctorate in Engineering received a 5,000 cash prize.
