Study programme with in-depth practice Bachelor Automotive Technology and Management

The degree programme in Automotive Technology and Management is divided into two specialisations: Mechatronics and IT and Industrial Engineering. Therefore, this programme is suitable for students who are interested in both technology and business administration.

Here you can find more information about the degree programme.

Your training and study contents

Mechatronics and IT: In addition to basic knowledge in automotive development - including mechanics, electrics, electronics and informatics - the degree programme also covers specialist areas such as sensor and actuator technology. Aspects of business administration, project management and presentation technology complete the study content.

Industrial Engineering and Management: The focus of the programme is on a balanced combination of basic technical knowledge. For example, in mechatronics or materials science, production techniques, controlling, marketing and sales through to project management or presentation techniques.

The following applies to both directions: During a 6-week basic internship as well as practical work during the semester breaks, we provide comprehensive experience for future professional life. As an exciting practical topic, interested students can design and build a real racing car as part of the CAT project (Coburg Automobile Team) and use it in competitions.

Interview with Johanna Meixner

How to combine a technical apprenticeship with a business degree? This was exactly what I wanted to do professionally. Along the way, I decided to start with an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician with an integrated entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences. When subsequently choosing a suitable course of study, I became aware of the so-called "study with in-depth practice" via the study fair in Bamberg. I was particularly interested in the subject "Automotive Technology - Industrial Engineering Automotive", which I quickly became enthusiastic about after taking a closer look at this study model.

As an automotive supplier, Brose offers precisely this model together with Coburg University of Applied Sciences. That appealed to me. So I applied for a dual study programme at Brose and my expectations were fulfilled: The study programme is very flexible. It can be perfectly adapted to the circumstances of the company and my personal interests by combining the elective fields. The practical phases in particular offer the best opportunities to work in a team, but above all independently and on my own responsibility - directly on current topics that also help my department.
