ATP Dubai Duty: Krawietz/Pütz Miss Out on Semifinals Dubai

The second hurdle in the United Arab Emirates was too high for the German tennis duo. Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz missed out on the semifinals of the ATP-500 event in Dubai on Wednesday, losing 3-6, 6-7 (4-7) to Jamie Murray from Great Britain and John Peers from Australia.
The match was an emotional rollercoaster for the duo from Upper Franconia and Hesse. They took the lead several times but ultimately squandered too many opportunities. Tim Pütz also made a costly double fault in the second set. After Krawietz/Pütz missed three set points, the set went to a tiebreak at 6-6, where Pütz immediately conceded a minibreak. Despite trailing 2-6, the Germans managed to fend off two match points from Murray/Peers before the latter secured the match with a 4-7 win. Thus, Krawietz and Pütz missed out on reaching the semifinals.
