Ostalbrallye: Dinkel on the podium again

With starting number one, Patrik and Marcel Dinkel opened the 36th edition of the Ostalbrallye with start and finish in Abtsgmünd. After six challenging special stages, the duo parked the newly built Brose Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX RS in third place overall and celebrated a strong debut.

"This event is one of the best that Germany has to offer! In addition to good organization, the course variants are changed every year. In particular, the two sprint stages "Waldmannshofen" and "Pommes", each covering almost eleven kilometers, offered everything a rally driver's heart desires. The final circuit "Holzleuten" with almost 15 kilometers also had it all, which caused several rides and minor interruptions," said the Dinkel twins, praising the rally to the skies.

"Even though we don't sit in the cockpit together all that often, communication with Marcel always works from the very first meter. In addition, our new "Evo" ran almost perfectly - we'll just optimize a few little things for the next start," beamed Patrik at the finish in front of the Kochertal metropolis, which he reached in third place overall as winner of the NC1 class.
