Haßbergrallye: Numerous spectators in Ebern

Ebern, 05-18-2024

The traditional Haßbergrallye around Ebern took place on Whit Saturday. A strong field of 108 participants ensured a great atmosphere in the packed spectator areas along the two special stages, each of which had to be driven twice and covered a total of 33.52 kilometers.

Heavy rain showers in the run-up to the event made for slippery road conditions during the inspection of the routes in the morning and led to different strategies when choosing tires. Top favorite and winner of the last two editions, Patrik Dinkel (Großheirath), had to cancel at short notice due to technical problems.

Michael Stoschek (Ahorn) and co-driver Philipp Späth (Berlin) entered a 1973 BMW 2002 powered by a Schnitzer four-valve engine with 246 hp. However, the team lost valuable time on the first special stage after a slip into the green and ended up 16th in class.
