Brose Motorsport: Pista and Piloti

Pößneck, 08-29-2021

The Thuringia Rally, which also counts towards the DMSB Rally Cup, was held in Pößneck last weekend.

In bright sunshine, the program for the 72 teams included six special stages with 64 kilometers and 195 kilometers of connecting sections.

The team Michael Stoschek (Ahorn) and Dieter Hawranke (Kassel) started with the Porsche 3.0 IROC from 1973 in the class of historic rally cars according to the regulations Annex K.

The fast and undulating special stages in the Saale-Orla district demanded the toughest requirements from man and machine.
Numerous failures and serious accidents of the modern rally cars were the result of the enormous strain on the track. The original IROC Porsche, of which only 15 were built, was actually too good for this.

After the Brose team took second place in class in the first special stage, they were able to take the first position in class after the technical failure of the leading vehicle.

On the other special stages, Stoschek/Hawranke were able to maintain their position and celebrate their class victory at the finish.

Michael Stoschek's next event is the Arosa hill climb in Switzerland on September 4/5.

Onlookers were not deterred by the ban on spectators.
