Chance of revenge for Krawietz/Pütz

Kevin Krawietz from Coburg and his partner Tim Pütz have reached the quarter-finals of the 31st Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, Westphalia. On Wednesday, the Germans, seeded second, won their opening match against Lloyd Glasspool from Great Britain and Jean-Julien Rojer from the Netherlands 7:6 (8:6), 6:3 after one hour and 17 minutes of play.

The Davis Cup pairing will now face German duo Constantin Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens in the round of the last eight teams at the ATP 500 tournament, as they did in Stuttgart when they lost in the first round. Frantzen and Jebens received a Wild Card for this tournament. They defeated Yuki Bhambri (India) and Albano Olivetti (France) in a match tie-break in a round of 16 thriller.
