Great Ocean Road Open: Opening Victory for Krawietz and Pütz

Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz are starting the new tennis year in Australia. The Great Ocean Road Open serves as the warm-up for the Australian Open in Melbourne, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year. At the 250-level tournament in Adelaide, the Germans are among the favorites.

The start was perfect. In their first match together since their triumph at the ATP Finals in November in Turin, the two tennis professionals achieved a 7-5, 5-7, 10-7 victory against Sweden's Andre Gorasson and the Netherlands' Sem Verbeek. Krawietz and Pütz are now in the quarterfinals.

Tomorrow at 02:30 AM German time, they will face the Czech duo Petr Nouza and Patrik Rikl.
