Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies reach the semi-finals of the French Open

Paris, 06-04-2019

Kevin Krawietz and his doubles partner Andreas Mies have been playing in the French Open in Paris since Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

In their first match in the last 64, the duo faced the French pairing A. Rinderknech and M. Guinard and won by 7:5 and 6:4.

In the last 32 on the following Saturday, they ran out winners against N. Mahut (France) and J. Melzer (Austria) by 6:4 and 6:4.

That was followed by a match in the last 16 on Sunday, June 2, where the two Germans came up against the Austrian O. Marach and Croatian M. Pavic. The match went the full three sets, with Krawietz and Mies winning two of them by 6:3 and 7:5.

In the quarter-finals that were held today, the duo defeated the Serbian pairing of D. Lajovic and J. Tipsarevic by 6:1, 6:7 and 7:6 in a fiercely contested encounter with two tie-breaks.

That victory means Krawietz and Mies have qualified for the semi-finals of the French Open.

They will face off against the two Argentinean players G. Pella and D. Schwartzman on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

We congratulate Kevin and Andreas on their win today and wish them every continued success for the remainder of the tournament.
