The European adventure continues: s.Oliver Würzburg again narrowly won the second leg of its Round of 16 game in the FIBA Europe Cup against the Russian club Avtodor Saratov and now meets the Danish representative Bakken Bears from Aarhus in the quarter-finals on March 20 and 27. After a checkered start, the players of Head Coach Denis Wucherer produced a strong performance in the final 27 minutes to turn the game around in front of just over 1,600 spectators in the s.Oliver Arena on Wednesday evening. Johannes Richter was the top scorer with 16 points in the 94:90 home victory against Saratov; five other players also got into double digits.

Würzburg now faces the team with the strongest offense in the competition, Bakken Bears, who defeated Ironi Ness Ziona from Israel by a total of 22 points in the last sixteen. The first leg of the quarter-final will be played this Wednesday in Denmark and the second leg at the s.Oliver Arena on March 27 (tip-off: 7 p.m.).
