Tennis: Davis Cup - Krawietz and Pütz make German semi-final perfect

The German men's tennis team has reached the semi-finals of the Davis Cup for the first time since 2007. Thanks to the victory of Jan-Lennard Struff and the success in doubles with Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz, the German selection defeated Great Britain 2-1.

Struff beat world number twelve Cameron Norrie 7:6 (6), 3:6, 6:2 in Innsbruck on Tuesday. The doubles team of Krawietz/Pütz won 7-6 (12-10), 7-6 (7-5) against Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski. Peter Gojowczyk had no chance in the opening match, losing 2-6, 1-6 to Daniel Evans.

In the semifinals on Saturday, the German selection will face Russia or Sweden in Madrid.
