Your tasks

  • Coordinating the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management plan and monitoring compliance with the plan. Support and develop the company Health and Safety procedure to ensure that it complies with the requirement for necessary accreditations such as OHSAS18001, ISO45001 etc. Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs to support Health and Safety. For example, COSHH Registers are maintained and up to date
  • Support the company defined targets for Health and Safety, including defining objectives and monitoring of actions. Coordinating and chairing regular HSE meeting. Support in the development and improvement of the Environmental and Energy Systems
  • Maintaining a register of accidents and injuries and providing an analysis of these to Health and Safety Committee meetings on a monthly basis, identifying emerging OHS risks in the workplace. Coordinating the successful completion of actions, by monitoring of agreed timelines for corrective actions. Ensuring actions and communication of lessons learnt for similar processes
  • Involvement for new equipment to establish that it is safe/stable and supports good ergonomic design for team members. New project review prior to introduction within Plant, ensuring all HSE topics are covered
  • Foster and develop an OH&S Culture across the organisation. Developing training programs for health and safety issues including hazard management, accident investigation, manual handling and fire safety in liaison with the Training team to ensure such activities are included in the Training Master Plan. Improvement to the working understanding of HSE on the shop floor, eg Development of Toolbox Talks. Additionally ensuring that Safety training and drills are performed and planned as part of the company’s HSE program and legal requirements, eg emergency response systems
  • The control of contractors. Ensuring, that all appropriate personnel understand their requirement and duties for contractors when on-site
  • Support the Fire safety requirement of the business
  • Coordination of projects and actions ensuring that agreed timelines are adhered to
  • Communication of high risk actions, legislation etc. and statuses to Management. Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on health and safety matters
  • Coordination of OH & S Audit programme including conducting and reporting of audits and assuring compliance



Your profile

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety. Candidates with a NEBOSH certificate may be considered if they come from the desired background
  • 3 + Years as a Health and Safety Officer
