Work Safety and Environment Manager

Your tasks

  • ct as the EHS Management Representative: Collaborate with top management to set goals, drive programs, manage significant environmental aspects, evaluate risks, and monitor performance targets for the corporate site.
  • Provide EHS Support: Offer technical and tactical support for EHS programs within the region, including organizing and developing EHS experts at North American facilities.
  • Coordinate Central Activities: Communicate and coordinate activities directed by the central organization in Coburg.
  • Maintain Industry Certifications: Ensure the corporate site maintains certifications to current environmental, health, and safety standards such as ISO 14001 and 45001.
  • Ensure Compliance: Facilitate compliance with local, regional, customer, corporate, and regulatory standards through assessments, inspections, recordkeeping, and data documentation.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Agencies: Serve as the main contact with external regulatory agencies for the corporate site and support North American facilities.
  • Oversee Audits: Manage internal and external audit processes across North American sites, conduct global internal audits, and follow up to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and Present Training: Create and deliver training materials for new and existing employees in classroom settings, workshops, and meetings.
  • Consult on EHS Aspects: Provide consultation on EHS aspects for planning, executing, and maintaining new/existing facilities and manufacturing equipment, including related management systems.
  • Support KPI Development: Assist in developing and communicating regional EHS key performance indicators.

Your Profile

  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding government regulation, safety and environmental compliance
  • Objectively and accurately analyze EHS data utilizing analytical skills to maximize overall performance and provide input to corporate strategy.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and to communicate information regarding compliance performance or other business issues strictly on a need-to-know basis.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in sustainability / corporate social responsibility (CSR).
  • Very high level of understanding of the Brose Productivity System (BPS) and the Brose Management System (BMS)
  • Certified lead auditor for ISO14001, ISO50001 and ISO45001
  • Graduate safety practitioner, Associate safety professional, or Certified safety professiona
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, or more than ten years related experience in a responsible function in a company with a similar complexity
