Brose Trainee Program: diverse – international – connected
Markus Holzberger, Vice President Customer Unit Drives Brose Würzburg, and Nico Aschoff, Director Commercial Administration Brose New Boston/USA, have one thing in common: both started their careers at Brose with the International Trainee Program. In this interview, they tell us what advantages this path offers for professional development and what Markus Holzberger and Nico Aschoff still benefit from today.
Mr. Holzberger, Mr. Aschoff, you joined Brose as trainees in 2011 and 2012. What do you think are the advantages of the program?
Nico Aschoff: Overall, the Trainee Program is an excellent way for graduates to start their careers and gain practical experience. The rotation within the company creates a unique opportunity to gather diverse insights.
Markus Holzberger: The structured program offers ideal conditions: a mentor from the management, stations in various departments at different locations, a stay abroad, further training opportunities, and on-the-job learning to expand your own professional and personal skills.
What did you learn during the trainee program that still helps you in your day-to-day work?
Markus Holzberger: First and foremost, the global network in the Brose Group. As we went through the various stations, we kept meeting new people and formed a community with the other trainees. A great advantage - even after completing the program.
Nico Aschoff: In addition, by being involved in projects, you learn to familiarize yourself with new topics quickly and to prioritize strongly. These experiences have subsequently helped me a lot.
What would you like to share with on to all future trainees at Brose?
Markus Holzberger:The program is perfect for ambitious career starters who want to take on responsibility quickly and make a difference.
Nico Aschoff: It's also a great way to find out which tasks, projects or roles fit your own skills. My advice to future trainees: Ask and learn as much as possible and use the time to build your network and knowledge.
What do you appreciate about Brose as an employer? What can you particularly look forward to as a Brose trainee?
Nico Aschoff: Brose offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. If you perform well, are motivated and flexible, you can achieve a lot at Brose.
Markus Holzberger: You are given responsibility at a young age and work on challenging projects. The structured trainee program was a great way for us to start our careers, and it opened many doors for us in the company.
Thank you very much for the interview.
Since 2021, Markus Holzberger has been in charge of the Customer Unit for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volvo in the Business Division Drives at our location in Würzburg.
Nico Aschoff is now Director Commercial Administration in New Boston, one of Brose's largest plants in the USA, and is responsible for the functions of Controlling, IT, Logistics and Human Resources.
