Brose Motorsport: End of season at Rally Valpantena

Grezzana , 11-13-2021

To round off the 2021 rally season, the Brose Motorsport team took to the start line for what is now the fifth time at the Rally Valpantena. Due to the Covid19 restrictions, no spectators were officially allowed. Nevertheless, numerous fans gathered along the route between Valpantena and Lessinia to see the legendary vehicles from more than 40 years of motorsport history in action. 219 teams from six nations had registered for the 19th edition of the tradition-steeped rally in order to drive their rally cars at maximum speed over eight closed-off special stages. For this purpose, 52 test kilometers were on the program over a distance of 200 kilometers. However, the main focus of the event was not on the ranking, but on the joy and fun of demonstrating historic rally vehicles. The drivers thanked the enthusiastic audience with spectacular drifts.

As one of only ten foreign teams, Michael Stoschek (Ahorn) and Philipp Späth (Berlin) brought a Porsche 911 SC/RS Belga into action and thrilled the spectators with the original Group B car from 1984. While there was still sunshine in the morning, light rain in the afternoon already made conditions more difficult for the teams. In the final phase of the rally, heavy fog set in in the mountains, which severely impaired visibility on the already very demanding stages.

Nevertheless, the event against the fantastic backdrop of the Italian mountain landscape provided a successful conclusion to the Brose team's successful season. The start to the 2022 season is already planned with the Planai Classic in January.
