Tiago Monteiro ready for the Legends Trophy’s Indianapolis 500

Tiago Monteiro will take part on the virtual Indianapolis 500, counting for The Race’s legends trophy, next saturday the 23rd at 6 p.m.. One of the most mythical races in the world and the crown jewel of the IndyCar season, this event races around the Indianapolis oval track, and is on the top of the Portuguese ace’s bucket list. This will be an opportunity to compete, even virtually, with some of the best ever drivers in the world, including several generations of Indianapolis 500 winners and 12 wins, and household names such as Andy Priaulx, Dario Franchitti, Emanuele Pirro, Emerson Fittipaldi, Fernando Alonso, Gil de Ferran, Helio Castroneves, Jan Magnussen, Jenson Button, Juan Pablo Montoya, Mario Andretti, Max Papis, Mika Salo, Petter Solberg, Tom Coronel, Tony Kanaan, among many more.

With Fittipaldi Dingman Racing colors and Brose, the team with whom Tiago contested the Champ Car World Series in 2003, this will be a special Saturday for Tiago Monteiro, who is thrilled: “This is an event with great symbolism. On one hand, I’ll be able to go back racing with a team that played a big role in my early career, on the other, this is a race that has always been on my bucket list but also one I could never participate on. I’m sure it will be a fantastic race and a lot of fan to fight on such an amazing grid with multiple Indianapolis 500 winners”, explained the Portuguese driver.
