The young center talent Diederichs scored the first five points of the new season. The initial phase was balanced, with BBC Coburg leading 12:13 after five minutes. Oberhaching then forced several defensive stops and took a 23:15 lead by the end of the first quarter with a 10:3 run. In the final minutes of the game, an open offensive exchange developed, with both sides making baskets and the lead changing several times. With 17 seconds left, the young Diederichs made 1 of 2 free throws, but the offensive rebound landed in the hands of Zach Hinton, who calmly scored from the free-throw line to give Coburg an 80:84 lead. Oberhaching’s last shot missed, and Franke sealed the win with a layup, making it 80:86.
