ATP Rotterdam: Semifinals for Krawietz and Pütz

Rotterdam, 02-16-2023

The German tennis doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz has reached the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Rotterdam after defeating the doubles team of Dimitrov/Mahut.

The German team initially failed to build on its performance from the previous day, when it took out top favorites Koolhof/Skupski 6:3, 6:3.

In the first round, Dimitrov/Mahut managed to win the set 6:3 with a break in the fourth game. In the second set, the Franconian-Hessian doubles team regained their strength and confidence to take the set win.

In the match tiebreak, Krawietz/Pütz hardly made any mistakes and it seemed as if the decision had already been made with the 6:2. However, Dimitrov/Mahut fought their way back in two mini-breaks with a 6:6. Finally, Kevin Krawietz could seal the semi-final for himself and his doubles partner Tim Pütz with two converted volleys.

In the semifinals, which will take place at noon on Saturday, the Germans will face either the fourth-seeded British-Finnish pair Lloyd Glasspool/Harri Heliovaara or the Indian-Australian duo Rohan Bapanna/Matthew Ebden.
