BBL: Bamberg loses home game against Hamburg

The Bamberg Baskets had to admit defeat to Veolia Towers Hamburg 80-83. After seven wins in December, the Upper Franconians suffered their second January defeat in a row.
In the first half, a tough game developed with many turnovers on both sides. Bamberg's center Filip Stanic played with a nose mask after breaking his nose in the Ulm game, which visibly hindered him - he only hit one of five baskets. Nevertheless, Bamberg led 34-24 shortly before the break. But by halftime, the lead had melted to five points. After the change of ends, Bamberg could no longer cope defensively with the high speed of Hamburg. With a strong third quarter, the guests took a clear lead, which they extended to 71-51 at the beginning of the final quarter. Bamberg fought their way back into the game in the last seven minutes. Top scorer Noah Locke hit 16 of his 23 points in the final phase, playmaker Ronaldo Segu also scored 10 of his 19 points in the end. But the catch-up came too late, Bamberg did not get closer than the 80-83 to the guests.
On Sunday, January 12, 2025, the Baskets have to play away at the MHP giants Ludwigsburg. Jump is at 3:00 p.m.
