Brose Bamberg finishes fourth in Antwerp

Antwerp, 05-03-2019

Brose Bamberg’s dream of the Champions League title was shattered on Friday evening in the semi-final of the Final Four in Antwerp after a 50:67 loss to Virtus Bologna. The team of Head Coach Federico Perego was then defeated by the hosts Antwerp by 58:72 in the third place playoff on Sunday afternoon. The only Bamberg player who took a trophy home was Tyrese Rice: The American was chosen Most Valuable Player in the entire 2018/19 Basketball Champions League season.

Perego’s team face their next challenge on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, when it welcomes second-placed club EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the easyCredit German Basketball League. Brose lost the game between the two by 89:100 just under four weeks ago.
