Brose Bamberg terminates relationship with Roel Moors

Bamberg, 06-24-2020

Roel Moors is no longer Head Coach of Brose Bamberg. The first-division basketball club has released the 41-year-old Belgian from his contract, which ran until June 30, 2021, with immediate effect. Moors joined Brose from the Belgian club Antwerp Giants before the season that has just ended. Assistant Coach Thomas Crab will also leave the club along with Roel Moors.

Leo De Rycke commented: “The focus of the coaching team’s work is always to help the team progress and develop further. Unfortunately, this past season didn’t go as we had hoped in that respect. As a consequence, the results were also not satisfactory. In view of the sporting challenges ahead of us, we believe it’s important to act without delay and ensure clarity. That’s why the Supervisory Board, management and the Sports Director have unanimously decided to terminate the contracts with the Head and Assistant Coaches. We thank Roel Moors and Thomas Crab for their work in the past season and wish both of them all the best in the future.”

Talks are currently being held with potential candidates for the post of Head Coach. Brose Bamberg assumes it will be able to present a successor in the next two weeks.
