Brose Motorsport: 4th place for Stoschek/Hawranke

Michael Stoschek (Ahorn) and his co-driver Dieter Hawranke (Kassel) competed in the 1973 Porsche Carrera RSR 3.0 IROC at the AC Hof rally sprint in Schwand. A special stage of 5.0 kilometres was driven three times. 44 teams had entered the rally sprint.

While it was still raining during the special stages, the sun was shining at the start of the rally and all the tracks were dry.

The Brose team started with the historic Porsche in the NC2 class, in which otherwise only more modern BMWs were on the starting list. However, Stoschek/Hawranke set the fourth fastest time in the class on the very first lap with the oldest car in the field.

With the Porsche, the Brose team continued to drive consistently in the other special stages and finished in 4th place in class and 19th overall.

Overall victory went to Brose-backed Patrik Dinkel and his co-driver Monique Voigt.

Stoschek/Hawranke's next event will be the Krumlov Rally in the Czech Republic on 19 - 20 May.
