Brose Motorsport: Michael Stoschek in second place at Bernina Pass

St. Moritz, Switzerland , 09-19-2021

For the seventh time since its resumption in 2015, the Bernina Gran Turismo mountain race took place in the canton of Graubünden from September 16 - 19.

80 historic racing cars competed in four heats in the Competition and Uniformity classes against the imposing backdrop of the Swiss Alps.

On the 5.7 km long pass road from La Rösa to the finish on the Bernina Pass at an altitude of 2,235 meters, more than 50 curves and about 450 meters of height difference had to be mastered in excellent weather conditions on September 18.

Michael Stoschek started as one of 17 participants from six nations in the Competition classification and used a Schnitzer BMW 2002, built in 1973 and rebuilt in 2008. The car's 16-valve engine produces 240 hp.

In the second race on Saturday, Stoschek achieved the ninth fastest time overall and was very satisfied. Only competitors with significantly larger displacement vehicles were able to complete the course faster. As in the previous year, Stoschek finished second in the group of vehicles built between 1972 and 1975.

The Brose Motorsport team's next event is the Rally Maremma in Italy from October 23 to 24.
