Brose Motorsport: Michael Stoschek finishes second in Arosa

Arosa, Schweiz , 09-01-2019

The Arosa Classic Car Mountain Race was held for the 15th time from August 30 through September 1, 2019.

Around 27,000 enthusiastic spectators watched as 166 participants from four nations competed in three classes over four races in changeable weather. On the mountain roads between Langwies and Arosa, the drivers and their historical rally cars had to complete a 7.3 km route with 76 bends, including several hairpins, and an overall climb of around 450 meters in altitude.

Michael Stoschek lined up for Brose Motorsport in the 1973 Porsche 911, 2.8 RSR, which had been rebuilt in 2018. The car achieves 320 hp and weighs 960 kg.

Since the mountain route has inclines of up to 12%, the shortest possible transmission would have been necessary to translate the engine’s power into top speed on the road. As a result, Stoschek did not clock the times he managed in 2006, when he was in a weaker car, and so had to be content with second place in his group and seventh in the competition field.

The next outing for the Brose Team is at the Arbö Rally in Admont, Austria, in a 2.5-liter Porsche 911 from September 20 to 21, 2019.
