Brose Motorsport: Michael Stoschek finishes third in Arosa

Arosa, Switzerland, 09-06-2020

The Arosa Classic Car Mountain Race was held for the 16th time from September 3 through 6, 2020. Despite the coronavirus prevention measures and a limit of 1,000 people in the event zone, the oldtimer mountain race again attracted many spectators, who were finally able to enjoy motor racing with historic cars in the resplendent weather.

Around 100 participants from five nations lined up in three classes.

The four runs on the route from Langwies to Arosa each comprised 7.3 kilometers of trials, with 76 bends and an overall climb of 422 meters in altitude.

As in the previous year, Michael Stoschek lined up in the 1973 Porsche 911, 2.8 RSR, which had been rebuilt in 2018. The car achieves approximately 320 hp and weighs 960 kg.

Since the mountain route had inclines of up to 12%, the team chose the shortest possible transmission to translate the engine’s power into top speed on the road.

Stoschek improved from run to run to finish third in the category of vehicles built between 1972 and 1975 and fifth in the competition field.
