Brose Motorsport: Rally Ostwestfalen

Gütersloh, 07-03-2021

Eleven historic rally cars from all the important eras of the sport took part in the Rally East Westphalia on July 3, 2021.

Michael Stoschek (Ahorn) and Dieter Hawranke (Kassel) started on Porsche 911 2,5 l. In fact, the original car with which Gerald Larrousse took 2nd place in the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally.

On the rally day, eight special stages with a total of 66 km were driven, as well as 186 km on connecting routes.

Michael Stoschek put the Porsche into action spiritedly on the first five special stages. However, on the connecting section to the sixth special stage, Michael Stoschek accidentally activated the integrated fire extinguishing system. The driver and co-driver were sprayed so heavily with fire extinguishing foam by the built-in nozzles that it was as if a snowstorm had broken out. In an emergency, this would have been very helpful, but unfortunately the soaked team with the foamed interior of the Porsche was unable to continue the race.

The next event for the Brose team will be the Rally Festival Vosges from 26-28 August 2021.
