Brose supports Caritas Hospice: care services expanded

The Caritas Association Coburg has received a donation of €15,000 from Brose. The automotive supplier has already been continuously supporting the work of the hospice in Coburg since 2018 and its commitment has been instrumental in expanding the facility's therapeutic offerings. In particular, the music therapy offering has been expanded in recent years. On Saturday, July 8, the facility will celebrate its fifth anniversary.

The Caritas Hospice Lebensraum accepts terminally ill people. The stay is free of charge for the guests. Specially trained staff care for and accompany them on their final journey through life.

"In recent years, we have specifically supported the expansion of music therapy, which has enabled us to add numerous options," explains Steffen Tauss, head of social and health services at the Brose Group. "I am pleased to be able to follow this positive development and see how we can make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of people in stressful situations in the immediate vicinity of our location."

Over the past five years, musical instruments such as a piano and a mobile music cart have been purchased. Music therapy thus enables guests in various rooms of the hospice not only to relax in a special way, but also offers them opportunities to express their feelings.

"Music now accompanies everyday life in the hospice," describes Norbert Hartz, Managing Director of the Caritasverband für die Stadt und den Landkreis Coburg e.V., "Several times a week we offer therapy sessions for the guests and on special occasions the staff of the facility also make music together. These diverse musical performances create moments of joy and well-being and thus help in dealing with challenging circumstances. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Brose for its continued support in what continue to be difficult economic times," Hartz continued.
