Cincinnati Masters: Early exit in the round of 16

Despite fending off four match points, Kevin Krawietz and his doubles partner Tim Pütz suffered an early defeat in the last 16 of the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati.

Their match against the Croatian-Australian pair Nikola Mektic and John Peers was marked by ups and downs. Although Krawietz and Pütz managed a comeback in the second set, they eventually lost 5:7, 6:2, 11:13.

The performance certainly did not meet the expectations of the German doubles in the run-up to the upcoming US Open, which will start on 28 August.
