Comeback successful: Christian Engelhart chases competitors in Valencia

Valencia , 09-26-2021

Recovered from his back injury, Adrien de Leener returned to Dinamic Motorsport's Porsche 911 GT3 R as Christian Engelhart's teammate. The duo with the #54 thus returned to racing action in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup - and did so remarkably! At the finale on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo west of Valencia, they put the competitors under pressure.

With 5th place as the best Porsche team, the returnees in the championship can additionally add a lot of championship points to their account. "Our Porsche was very well prepared and we were able to drive two great races, which makes GT3 motorsport really attractive. Almost the entire starting field with its 27 cars was within just one second in qualifying. In the race, too, there was pure motorsport and real racing on almost all positions. For me, an absolute highlight weekend on a fabulously well-maintained race track," says Christian, summing up his return to Valencia after around ten years.

Christian's very good run already started in qualifying. In both races, the Porsche specialist was able to demonstrate his strength, race overview and experience in one of the most competitive GT series with his GT3 R and prevailed in several duels.

"In the second race, I was able to improve from fifth to third position after an exciting qualifying. The overtaking maneuvers, in which I was able to prevail in the end, were very close on the one hand and stretched over several corners in each case. That's a very good feeling at the end of the Sprint Cup season and at the same time a positive start and prelude to my "autumn season" for me."

From Valencia, Christian will be heading straight to the Sachsenring near Zwickau next weekend. The traditional track in the automotive region will host the fifth race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters.
