Dinkel and Kießling have no luck at the Bergring Rally

Teterow, 07-14-2019

The fourth race in the 2019 Rally Gravel Cup was something special: the ADAC Rally 35 Bergring Teterow in the heart of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Fifty-five teams competed in the rally over 35 kilometers on and next to a grass and gravel speedway track on Saturday.

Patrik Dinkel and Felix Kießling lined up in their Mitsubishi Evo 9 with the start number 54. Their ambitions were set high and their goal was clear: To repeat their win of the previous year and leave almost half a dozen Mitsubishi Evos and just as many cars with an all-wheel drive behind them.

Unfortunately, the outing for the duo of Patrik Dinkel and Felix Kießling turned out to be a short one at this rally: They suffered an accident with their Mitsubishi during the first trial and were not able to continue.

“There was so much dust. We couldn’t see a thing any more, missed the braking point and diverged from the ideal line and then we were no longer able to take the bend,” said Felix after being forced to retire on the first trial.

The overall winners of the 8th ADAC Teterow Bergring Rally were Martin Christ and Norman Jakobs in their Mitsubishi Evo 9.

The next rally on the agenda is the 32nd ADAC Rally “Rund um die Sulinger Bärenklaue” from August 9 to 10, 2019.
