Dinkel finishes second in Lübbecke

Lübbecke, 06-25-2016

An exciting weekend of rallying with a race in the German Rally Championship in radiant sunshine was announced. However, continuous rain accompanied by thunder storms meant that some of the roads were awash with mud and had huge puddles of water. That made the demanding trials on asphalt in the ADAC Stemweder Berg Rally at the edge of the Wiehen Hills around Lübbecke a great challenge. 37 of the 68 teams that started crossed the finishing ramp after the organizers had canceled the last four trials for safety reasons. On the eleven other trials over a total length of 123.78 kilometers, Fabian Kreim and Frank Christian in a Fabia R5 from Skoda Auto Deutschland were the fastest team, clocking a time of 1:24:50.3. Dominik Dinkel and Christina Kohl (Rossach / Tiefenbach) in a Skoda Fabia S2000 finished second 36.6 seconds behind them.

“We’re simply happy. The whole team did a great job. It was sometimes borderline with the rivers of water and mud on the route. Of course, you also learn a lot from these tough conditions. As a result, we’ve gathered a great deal of experience for the rest of the season,” said the young pilot from Rossach.
