Engelhart shows good pace to finish in the top 10 at Silverstone

Silverstone, 05-20-2018

On the legendary Silverstone track, Christian Engelhart and his Grasser Racing Team were able to get back among the top ten thanks to hard work and great passion. In their Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Engelhart and his teammates displayed a solid pace and managed to chalk up another success.

Christian Engelhart and his team have continuously battled to achieve good placements, but – after a very good start to the season – have been faced with major challenges. That was particularly apparent in qualifying at Silverstone: 11th position was not what Engelhart was hoping for.

“I think we’ve already shown this year what we’re capable of – in qualifying and in the race itself. At the moment we simply lack the pace to be able to contend with the leaders. We also had bad luck at Silverstone, as a red flag meant we weren’t able to put our original plan for qualifying into practice.”

In the actual race, the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 was very reliable and constant as usual, with the result that Christian Engelhart and his two fellow pilots were able to operate from eleventh position. There were only setbacks in the pit stops, where the Grasser Racing team again did very good work, but reasons that the team and drivers were not able to influence meant they lost time.

“Unfortunately, at the moment we’re losing too much time when we stop to refuel and we aren’t able to make it up on the track. As a result, we aren’t reaping the rewards of our very good teamwork and our car’s fine performance. We lost a total of seven seconds in the pits this weekend.”

Nevertheless, Christian Engelhart, Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli managed to cross the line in tenth and get among the points at Silverstone. The next race is at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France on the first weekend in June.
