German Rally Championship: Dominik Dinkel wins Cimbern Rallye

Süderbrarup, 09-11-2021

Germany's rally elite once again offered exciting motorsport at the top level at the ADAC Cimbern Rally. After seven special stages in changing weather conditions, Brose-backed Dominik Dinkel and Pirmin Winklhofer won in their Ford Fiesta Rally2 ahead of the duo Marijan Griebel/Alexander Rath (Citroën C3R5). Julius Tannert and Jan Enderle in the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo finished third.

The ADAC Cimbern Rally once again showed the impressive power density in the top class of the German Rally Championship (DRM). Four different duos celebrated special stages victories on the seven special stages of Germany's northernmost rally. Dinkel/Winklhofer secured three of them, were also permanently involved in the top group and took overall victory at the only one-day event on this year's DRM calendar with a lead of around eleven seconds.

The fifth special stage "Dollerup II" marked the Pirelli Power Stage of the ADAC Cimbern Rally 2021. The winners Dinkel/Winklhofer completed the 6.58-kilometer section on Saturday afternoon in 3:54.2 minutes and thus secured five additional championship points.

Overall winner Dominik Dinkel (Ford Fiesta Rally2): "It was a really close duel with Marijan. We put our focus on the long stage 'Fraulund' and were able to set very good times there. Then it was important not to make any mistakes and to bring home the victory. Of course, we are happy to have taken the lead again in the overall standings as well and now we will focus all our concentration on preparing for the ADAC 3-City Rally, which will be our home rally."

In the overall standings of the German Rally Championship, Dinkel/Winklhofer are now one point ahead of Griebel/Rath at the top of the table after three of five events. Tannert/Enderle and Riedemann/Vanneste remain unchanged in third and fourth place.
