Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies win the Neckar Cup

Heilbronn, 05-19-2019

The sixth Neckar Cup was staged in Heilbronn on Sunday. The participants included Kevin Krawietz and his doubles partner Andreas Mies.

They were able to win their first match against André Begemann and Fabrice Martin by 6:2 and 6:4. Their semi-final opponents Filip Krajinovic and Arthur de Greef were then forced to withdraw due to injury, so Krawietz and Mies advanced directly to the final of the tournament.

The two Germans got off to a good start and took the first set 6:2. The second set was far more fiercely contested than the first and stood at 4:4 when the two German players showed magnificent tennis to break Martin and go 5:4 ahead. After a small negative string of points and trailing by 0:40, Kevin Krawietz produced four superb serves, after which he and Andreas Mies did not give their opponents a chance.

The pair were jubilant about winning the tournament.
