Kevin Krawietz celebrates promotion!
Professional tennis player Kevin Krawietz and his club TC Großhesselohe had a lot to celebrate on Sunday – promotion to the top German national tennis league!
The last match of the season of the Second Division South was a promotion decider between TC Großhesselohe and TSV Rosenheim. It took place on Sunday in Pullach, a district of Munich – and Großhesselohe won the match 6:3. The club had finally returned to the top German tennis league after 16 years!
Kevin Krawietz played five club games this season and his results were impressive – 5:0 in doubles and 3:2 in singles. He couldn’t take part in the season’s last match, since he was playing in the “Isar Open” challenge tournament from August 6 to August 12. In the singles the 26-year-old fought his way into the semi-finals, where he lost 1:6, 6:1 and 1:6 to the Portuguese Pedro Sousa on Saturday. Krawietz and his partner Andreas Mies narrowly missed a place in the doubles semi-finals, losing their quarter-final match against the Italian duo Daniele Bracciali/Simone Bolelli 6:4, 3:6, 10:12.
Krawietz & Mies reached the last 16 in Wimbledon – an outstanding performance – and since then Kevin Krawietz has continued on the victory trail.
