Kevin Krawietz/Tim Pütz: ATP-Tour update

One week after the Olympics, Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz competed in the next tournament on the ATP Tour in Canada. After winning the first round against local heroes Liam Draxl and Benjamin Sigouin, the Germans went on to beat Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic and Norway's Casper Ruud in the following round of 16. This was followed by a narrow defeat in a match tie-break against Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavic (6:3/ 2:6/ 5:10) in the quarter-finals last Saturday.
The German Davis Cup doubles team was thus eliminated from the National Bank Open in Montreal. However, there was not much time to digest this defeat: Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz started the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati this Tuesday. In their opening match, they beat the experienced Argentinian doubles team of Francisco Cerúndolo and Tomás Martín Etcheverry (7:5/ 7:6). On Thursday, at 6:20 p.m., the round of 16 is scheduled against the American Rajeev Ram and the Brit Joe Salisbury.
