The Coburg State Theatre has an artistic director again: Last Friday, the administrative committee of the Landestheater decided to appoint Neil Barry Moss as artistic director until the 2026/27 season.
In addition, General Music Director Daniel Carter and the management committee agreed to extend his contract until the 2027/28 season.
Following the successful relocation and a brilliant first season with an almost always sold-out house, the course has thus been set for the medium-term future of the Landestheater at Globe in terms of personnel.
In order to create long-term prospects at an early stage - also in view of the theater's 200th anniversary in 2027 - the theater committee has decided to return to the artistic director model for the new season. From September 1, Neil Barry Moss will take over the overall management together with Bernd Vorjans as commercial director.
“The call from the Lord Mayor on Friday was a big surprise for me. I am delighted and would like to thank the theater committee for their trust. I am aware of how important the task is: we want to achieve a lot together at the Landestheater and establish ourselves as a cultural focal point in the region,” says the designated artistic director Neil Barry Moss.
Part of this is the Landestheater's new campaign: “We love Coburg... and we love our theater.” Neil Barry Moss is also committed to this: “My heart beats for the theater and the city and I am delighted to be writing this chapter of our history and the future of the theater together with the staff.
