Premature end at the Vosges Rallye Festival

Molzheim, 08-24-2019

Rally festivals for historical vehicles have been held regularly in Daun (Germany) and Admont (Austria) in the past years. In addition, the first Vosges Rally Festival was staged in 2017. The Brose team regularly participated in all the festivals with different vehicles.

More than 120 teams from 10 countries lined up in vehicles from 30 manufacturers and covering five decades of rally history last weekend.

Michael Stoschek (Coburg) and Dieter Hawranke (Kassel) took part in the Rally Festival in a 1974 Lancia Stratos Group A car. Weighing just 960 kg, it has a 6-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine and achieves 245 hp.

The historical rally cars attracted thousands of fans on their demonstration races on cordoned-off roads and completed nine trials over 130 km in the Vosges.

Unfortunately, the Stratos had a fault with the fan after the fifth trial and the hot coolant ran out of the overflow tank. In order to avoid greater damage to the Stratos, the Brose team decided to retire from the rally.

The next outing for Brose Motorsport Historic is the mountain race in Arosa from August 30 to September 1. Michael Stoschek will be driving a 2.8-liter Porsche 911 Carrera RSR there.
